64 Second Bow

Look, I know you’ve tried your darndest to make a bow in the past and it was too flat, too uneven, too frustrating. That will be the last traditional bow you’ll ever try making, because this technique is a game changer!

Grab some ribbon. You’ll need 4-5 different ones. Don’t worry about being matchy-matchy and it’s okay to mix stripes with polka dots… this isn’t your mother’s wardrobe 🙂 Use different widths as well.

Cut your ribbon into 6″  to 8″ lengths. Don’t worry if you don’t have two of each colour.  This is a more whimsical bow, so it looks great with whatever ribbons you have on hand. You should have 8-10 pieces of ribbon now.

Here’s the fun part: You’re going to work from your widest ribbon to your most narrow. Make an ‘X’ with your widest ribbon, and then layer the rest of your ribbons to criss cross over the ‘X’.

Taking your last length of ribbon, centre it over the middle and carefully flip the whole thing over.

Now tie it up tight, knotting it so it’s not going anywhere.

Flip it over, fluff it up and voila! Super cute ribbon you can use on wreaths, signs, frames and gifts. Using different mediums change up the look completely, so try burlap, mesh, raffia and netting. You’ll never make another traditional bow again!

Continue to lay your ribbon pieces along the ‘x’ you created.
